Ever wondered why Sauce Tree is called Sauce Tree? It’s more than just a fun name — it’s the beginning of everything we do.
In early 2020, right after the first COVID case hit Indonesia, Sauce Tree quietly launched. But there were no burgers, no dining tables, and no café. What we did have? Sauces — in jars. That’s how it began.
We created creamy dressings, spicy dips, and cooking sauces, all 100% plant-based. Many of our early customers were trying to eat less meat or cut out dairy, but didn’t know where to start. They didn’t want to give up flavor — and honestly, who does? Our sauces gave them an easy first step. They could keep eating what they loved, just with a little twist. Swap the mayo, toss the cheese, change the dressing — small swaps, big difference.
We weren’t trying to convince anyone to go vegan overnight. We just wanted to make eating plants feel exciting instead of limiting.
They were made to help people eat more veggies, try new things, and feel good about their meals, even during lockdown. You could toss them over rice, drizzle them on your salad, or dip fries into them. Our goal was simple: make plant-based food taste amazing at home.
And it worked. People loved them. That’s when we realized something. We weren’t building around food — we were building around flavor. And that flavor lived in the sauce. When it came time to name our brand, the answer had already been simmering: Sauce Tree.
We didn’t pick the name because it sounded cool. We picked it because it told our story. Sauce was our seed — and from it, everything grew.
Today, the sauces still lead the way. Every burger we serve starts with a sauce. Every bowl gets dressed with flavor. It’s how we cook, how we create, and how we welcome everyone — whether you’re vegan, plant-curious, or just hungry.
